Make your transition a success with a Mentor!
Who are we?
ISMP is a nonprofit mentorship program designed for international youth, college, and graduate students. We offer enriching workshops and small group or personal mentorship sessions that cover practical topics such as English skills, study habits, and personal development areas like relationships, character, and leadership. While our mentors are Christians and incorporate their values into their mentoring, our content is largely non-religious and open to all international students, regardless of their religious or cultural backgrounds. We welcome everyone, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all our students.

What Mentees Are Saying
“As an international graduate student, my social pool was very limited, and I didn’t know how to get through this big transition. However, after I met my mentor, I was able to have a valuable experience with good people that I would have never had without this program. My mentor not only taught me American life and culture but also helped me with English, which made it easier to complete my first quarter in the US.”
— Stella Seo, Chem & Biochem, Ph.D, University of California, San Diego
“ISMP is a nice place to start your college life! Mentors are helping the international students with understanding American culture. Even a shy student can make friends in this community.”
— Taiga Koma, Psychology, Orange Coast College
“I had a fantastic time with the mentors and friends at ISMP. They became the people I can lean on in my life and ISMP became the place where I feel the strongest sense of belonging as a foreign student.”
— Claire Chen, Public Affairs and Analytics, Masters, University of Southern California
“My mentor is very understanding and resourceful, helping me with job search, interpersonal skills, and personal growth, which allows my senior year to be less stressful.”
— Gabi Lee, Sociology, B.S. University of California, Los Angeles
“I had a hard time adjusting to American culture and I was about to give up and go back to my country, ignoring all of my dreams, but after I joined this program my mentors helped me to accept all the differences and ways to adapt to American culture.”
— Amirali Kaboodrangidaem, Mathematics, B.A., University of California, San Diego
